Things to do in Manchester start at Legoland
Mention Legoland to most people in the UK, and they'll immediately think of Windsor - but the perennially popular building-brick toy is also firmly on the list of things to do in Manchester.
Head to Barton Square in the Trafford Centre, and you'll encounter the Legoland Discovery Centre, an interactive exhibition of the north-west's iconic buildings, recreated in Lego brick form.
From October 20th to November 4th, the centre celebrates Halloween, with illuminated Lego pumpkins and a special Halloween badge for all younger visitors.
Throughout December, it's time to celebrate Christmas, as the Legoland Discovery Centre runs its annual Advent Calendar competition, a prize draw open to all the children who visit the centre each day from December 1st to 24th.
Lego suggest plenty of other things to do in Manchester, once you've visited the discovery centre - starting with shopping, as you'll already be at the Trafford Centre.
And of course, any visit to Manchester is likely to be dominated by football, whether you make the pilgrimage to United or City's stadiums, or simply drop into the National Football Museum in Manchester city centre.
